THE SAME 4 MINUTES

Sound, visual, and light design for a theatre piece directed by Saber Abar, where the stage was treated as a single instrument. Light, projection, and sound were composed together rather than layered, so that shifts in the space read as shifts in the performance itself.

THE 60’S SCARLETTE

Stage design and visual production built around the concept of the stories and music of a performance by Sajjad Afsharian and King Raam at Azadi Tower, with part of the material filmed and prepared by the team for the stage. The performance moved between two registers, music and storytelling, and while the visuals differed from story to story they held a single concept throughout. Three large moving screens carried the projected image, reconfiguring the space as the narration shifted.

31ST FAJR MUSIC FESTIVAL

Stage design and visual production for the 31st Fajr Music Festival, spanning 52 performances across five venues: Vahdat Hall, Roudaki Hall, Milad Tower, Arasbaran Cultural Complex, and Niyavaran Cultural Center. The programme moved through many genres, and while the visuals for each performance were distinct, an Iranian theme ran through all of them. Suspended silks served as a shared element across every hall, acting as the surface for the projection mapping. The opening and closing ceremonies of the festival were designed by the same team.

AYENEHDAR FESTIVAL

The second event dedicated to Iranian regional and ritual musicians, and the first in the form of a festival, with over 20 bands and 100 musicians from the south west of Iran. The brief was to design the stage with light, so the material was generative and audio reactive, following the concept of each genre. The polygonal wooden walls of Roudaki Hall, built in the seventies, became the screen: three video projectors turned the architecture into a single illuminated curve for the visuals.
