Light Installation Modules

HORIZON originates in a series of travels through the central Iranian desert, where performances staged at dawn and dusk produced a recurring visual motif: a single narrow band of light dividing land from sky. This horizon line was translated into a sculptural object, 3D printed and hand molded into modular forms that hold the desert's geometry within a physical body. Each module was designed to emit that same thin, precise edge of light rather than simply depict it.

The work took its full form in "III," a solo exhibition at Mohsen Gallery, Tehran, where the space was held in near total darkness and the HORIZON modules served as its only source of illumination. The lines of light moved beyond representing the desert threshold observed on those travels; they came to structure the room itself, directing movement and attention through the gallery. Sculpture and lighting design merge into a single gesture, concept and function inseparable.
